You can use them for old-time country cooking (see "Pedernales River chili" and "Mrs. Banks' Texas enchiladas") or new-time sophisticated cooking (see "Shrimp and pasta with creamy pesto sauce"). I particularly recommend the contributions of "Anonymous in Arkansas." In addition to being a prolific contributor to poetry anthologies, Anonymous is a fine cook. And if you don't look at a single other one, read "Lorney's Ice Cream Pie" for a heartwarming nostalgic story of Montana farm life.
